Attention NHS Inductees.  You must bring your acceptance form to Ms. Rodgers in room 1205 by the end of school of Thursday.  Please don't forget to get this done as we prepare for the Induction Ceremony on Feb 25.  You will pay your dues online on starting Feb 20 - 23.  Look for the Online Payment System link under Quick Links on the home page

Attention students who like to design or draw.  The art department is sponsoring a contest for the Relay for Life tee shirt design.  If chosen, you design will appear on all Relay for Life tee shirts.  Think of that. Your art for all to see. The theme is "Let the good times roll".  Bring your design ideas to Mrs. Ganley in art room 1109.

We are holding the contest for one week so your designs are due Today 

If you are a senior who is pursuing a college degree and will serve the nation through National Guard/Reserve or College ROTC, this scholarship is one you will be interested in. Applications for the Pelican Patriots Memorial Scholarship are now available in the guidance office and on our website. The deadline for applying is  March 16, 2018, so get yours today. 

Jr Civitans who are participating in the Pen Pal activity, should write one more letter. Please bring it to Mrs. Beach in room 6206 by end of the day today (2/20). We will have a social event for you to meet your new friend on February 27 - more details on that to come later.

 The WMHS Mock Trial team will be featured on KNOE TV8 next Thursday on Good Morning Ark-la-miss.  The station is holding a competition between 5 schools in the parish (WOHS, Richwood, Sterlington, St. Fred's and WMHS) for who has the best programs at their school.  PLEASE go online to or download the app and vote for WMHS!  The winning school will receive an invitation to appear on Good Morning Ark-la-miss and a trophy to display at the school.

Congratulations to the WMHS Mock Trial teams for their performances Saturday at the Regional Competition in Shreveport. Team B made it to the semi-finals for the first time ever! Team A placed second and will be headed to the state competition on March 10! Wish them luck at state!

Coach Osborne's next driver's ed class will start on Monday March 19th which is the day we get back from Spring Break. You must be registered before that day.  You can start signing up today in the PE gym.  The cost is 295.00 and must be paid by cash or a money order. 

Seniors, The Calhoun High School Alumni Association Scholarship application is now available in Guidance and online. Applicants must be legally related to a graduate of Calhoun High School and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. You must have documented plans to further your education at a college, university, community college, or trade school. All applicants must write a 1-2 page essay on "A Controversial Problem Faced On School Campuses and Suggest Solutions." Applications must be posted marked no later than April 5, 2018.

If you're interested in yearbook or photo journalism next year, stop by Miss Kiper's room 6204 for an application.  You must fill out the application, submit a presentation or photos, and have teacher recommendations.  Applications are due March 1st.

Anyone still wanting to pick up an application for spirit groups can still do so in the main office. The deadline is being pushed back to Monday, February 26th.

Attention Juniors and Seniors, prom is scheduled for March 29th this year. Tickets will go on sale March 5th-9th and 19th-23rd. Tickets are $30 each and a limited number of T shirts are available for $10. Forms are available outside of Mrs. Duke's room 3209. Please have forms completed before coming to purchase tickets.

Attention all District Literary Rally Participants:  We will leave the school at 8:15 Saturday morning to drive to LA Tech.  Plan to at the football stadium about 8:00.  Bring pencils and bring a calculator if needed.
