Art Club meeting in Mrs. Ganley's room 1109 tomorrow after school. We will meet until 4:00. Make sure you have a ride home.


Spring Club Picture Day will be tomorrow in the Memorial Gardens. The following clubs will have their picture taken. Please dress accordingly. Check in with your 1st period teacher and come down 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled time. We are on a tight schedule, so please be on time. If you are late, you will not be photographed.

We also need junior and senior prom-posal pics, student achievements, and bass fishing team pics. Send yours in with a good caption to to be included in our book!


The Faculty Favorite votes have been tallied. Winning teachers, you should have received a slip of paper in your teacher's box Friday afternoon. Your pictures will be Friday, March 9th during 1st and 2nd lunch shift. Come during your designated lunch shift to be photographed. If you have duty, please email me and we can take the picture during your planning period. Please wear something that goes with your category. Props are also encouraged.

The Rebel golf team participated in the Bayou Rapides Invitational Golf Tournament this past weekend, placing 6th in a 12 team field. Notable performances by the Rebels include senior Joey Kirkland shooting a 75 and 73 for a two day total of 148! Porter Tuberville shot a 73 on day one. Sophomore John Adam Lengefeld shot 79 day two and Freshmen James McMahan shot a 77 on day two. Also one Rebel had the closest to the hole, Tyler Bell. The Rebels will be in action today playing in a 9 hole tournament at Calvert Crossing. Good luck Rebels.


Attention all current sophomores and juniors who are interested in the teaching or coaching profession:

STAR is a class offered as an elective just for you! Juniors must have a 2.5 GPA, and sophomores must have a 3.0 GPA. There is a short application to fill out so see Mrs. Hunt in room 4209 if you need one. This class will be taught 5th period.


The Jason Paul Cameron Scholarship is Due tomorrow.


The Calhoun High School Alumni Association Scholarship application is now available in Guidance and online. Applicants must be legally related to a graduate of Calhoun High School and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. You must have documented plans to further your education at a college, university, community college, or trade school. All applicants must write a 1-2 page essay on "A Controversial Problem Faced On School Campuses and Suggest Solutions."Applications must be posted marked no later than April 5, 2018.


If you are a senior who is pursuing a college degree and will serve the nation through National Guard/Reserve or College ROTC, this scholarship is one you will be interested in. Applications for the Pelican Patriots Memorial Scholarship are now available in the guidance office and on our website. The deadline for applying is March 16, 2018, so get yours today. University of Louisiana Lafayette is hosting a preview day on March 18. Xavier University freshmen application deadline is in March and their Preview Day is March 25.


 The Alzheimer's Foundation Scholarship is not due until March 26.


You may now apply for the Southern University Alumni Federation Monroe Chapter Scholarship. Applications are available in guidance as well as on our website and our WMHS Face Book page. The deadline to apply is April 20.


The Kiroli Parents and Loyal Supporters (KPALS)Scholarship Application is now available in guidance and on our guidance website. The deadline for applying is March 23.


The Louisiana State University chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is offering the Balanced Man Scholarship. Three, one-time scholarships in the amounts of $2000, $1000, and $1000 to incoming freshmen men for the 2018-2019 academic year will be awarded. The men of the Louisiana Beta chapter strive to reward men who exemplify the qualities of a Sound Mind and a Sound Body, as they believe these are essential to leading a balanced life. Specifically, a Sigma Phi Epsilon balanced man is a leader, scholar, athlete, and a gentleman.To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship, you must submit an application by April 1, 2018 and enroll, full-time, at Louisiana State University, for the Fall 2018 term. You can apply online (preferred) at www. under the Balanced Man Scholarship link on the home page. If you prefer to mail your application, you can pick up a paper application in the guidance office.


The American Legion Baseball Scholarship is available for those who have played American Legion Ball and the application can be requested at deadline for applying is July 15.
