FCS will be collecting toys for Riverbend students who participate in the afters chool program at the West Monroe Community Center. Their goal is to have one gift per child so they really need our help. Gifts should be no more than $10 and suggestions are Nerf footballs, Barbies, Hot Wheels, stuffed animals, Legos, and board games but nothing that requires batteries. You can bring your unwrapped toys to FCS meetings on Wednesday mornings at 7:30 or drop them off in Mrs. Counts' room 4104. Last day to brings toys will be Wednesday, December 6th.

Dutchtown (8-4) andWest Monroe(11-0) face off this Friday at7:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. Dutchtown is probably hoping the momentum from its comeback win last game is still alive.

Last week, Dutchtown took on Slidell. Dutchtown had a poor defensive performance in the first half, giving up 24 points. That left it at a 24 - 7 disadvantage. In the second half, however, Dutchtown's defense made a stand, allowing a meager zero points. In a stunning comeback after the half, it snuck away with a 28 - 24 win.

Meanwhile, West Monroe has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling five) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on Central last week with a conclusive 51 - 15 victory.

Of course, Dutchtown and West Monroe can't both win again this week, so we'll learnon Fridaywhich team falters and which extends its success.

I'm betting on the Rebels. Good Luck guys, and now back to Gabby and Emly

West Monroe is wearing purple today in honor of Alzheimers awareness month. We wear purple for those who have been taken from us by Alzheimers and those who continue to struggle with this horrible disease for which there is no cure. The disease robs people of their memories and results in a slow steady decline.President Ronald Reagan declared November as National Alzheimers Disease Awareness Month in 1983.” According to the Alzheimers Association, “in 1983 less than 2 million Americans had the disease.” President Reagan died due to Alzheimers Disease in 2004. In the US today “more than 5 million Americans live with Alzheimers. By 2050 this number could rise as high as 16 million. " "Alzheimer's Disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the US."
