Any student planning on taking a dual enrollment class next year may still pick up a form in guidance. Applications are due by May 1. Also, the ULM DE online application is not open yet but will be soon. Once the online application is available, you will be notified. Remember to turn in all paper applications and application fees to Mrs. Hunt in room #4209.

 

Attention Senior National Honor Society Members.  All community service must be completed with forms turned in by end of school on Monday, April 16.  Please download your form on the NHS section of gorebs.org.  Turn in your form to Ms. Rodgers in room 1205.

West Monroe Step Team will be hosting auditions Friday, April 13th starting at 3:30 in the auditorium.  Wear all black and bring a copy of your last report card.  (2.0 min. GPA)

 

Seniors, the application for the Northeast Louisiana Rice Grower's Association is now in Guidance, on our Guidance Scholarship page, and on our school Facebook page. This is a $750 scholarship given to a graduating senior from a Northeast Louisiana Parish who will attend a Louisiana College or University. You must have maintained a 2.5 GPA through the first semester of his/her high school senior year. All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2018.

 

Attention any girls who are interested in playing soccer next season need to go by room 5203 and sign up for tryouts with Coach Barron. Tryouts will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 19th and 20th at the stadium from 3:30 to 5:30. You don't need any prior soccer experience to tryout, so please go by and see Coach Barron in room 5203 to sign up and get more details.

 

Seniors, If you are interested in applying for the Ben Caldwell Memorial Scholarship, you must do so online. The info for applying can be found on the Ben Caldwell Memorial Scholarship Facebook page, in the guidance office, on our WMHS Facebook page, and on our guidance webpage. The deadline for applying is April 23, 2018.

 

Relay for Life is coming! The Northeast Louisiana Relay for Life will be held on Friday, May 4 at Forsythe Park. The WMHS Relay for Life team is selling t-shirts with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. If you would like to support our team, you may purchase the t-shirts for $15 from Mrs. MitziMurray, Mrs. Gulde, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Ganley, Mrs. Robinson, Ms. Lowe, or Mrs. Cavin. You may also purchase Luminaria Bags for $10 each which will be displayed around the track on the night of the relay. Bags may be purchased in memory of loved ones who have lost their battle with cancer, or in honor of those who are still fighting the battle. You may pick up order forms from Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Gulde, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Ganley, Mrs. Robinson, Ms. Lowe, or Mrs. Cavin.

 

And finally, the WMHS Relay for Life team's fundraiser this year is a 5k Gleaux Run which will start at 8 p.m. on the night of the relay .If you are interested in running the race, you can pick up a registration form from Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Gulde ,Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Ganley, Mrs. Robinson, Ms. Lowe, or Mrs. Cavin. Registration fee is $30 and can be paid online with a credit card or by mailing a check to the address on the registration form. You can also register the night of the race, but you will not be guaranteed a race t-shirt. A big thank you to two of Mrs. Ganley's art students who designed the WMHS Relay for Life t-shirts this year! The tie-dye team t-shirts were designed by Destiny Brett and the t-shirts that will be given to those registering for the 5k run were designed by Leah Grace Smith. Way to go and thanks for your contributions! T-shirts are for sale from now until April 27. Registration for the 5k run is open from now until race day, Friday, May 4.
